You are truly awesome! I think it’s wonderful that you are combining your training/racing with raising money for such worthy causes. I’ll be keeping tabs on you, go, go, go, GO!!!
I just found your website via your iPhone comments. I hope all goes well for your upcoming ironman. I have read some of the entries you have made already about your training, I assume you are reasonably fit already. I guess the transition from Olympic tri to ironman triathlon is quite a big jump. I have been a judge for the uk ironmans for the last several years. This years ironman in Bolton has inspired me to enter next years event. It is amazing to see the emotion on peoples faces as they cross the finish line about 15 hours after they started. I wish you every success for the journey you are on. I am also using your site for a little inspiration, so don’t give up…….all the best.
(do you have a target time for completing it?)
Thanks for your comments – its great to get feedback, it keeps me motivated. I did the 70.3 Ironman on Exmoor a few years ago, so at least its not a huge jump for me – although Lanzarote is in a league of its own apparently!
In terms of time I’d love to go sub 12 hours, but having not raced to 5 years thats probably a big ask – finishing would be great!
Thanks for reading and i’ll keep the posts comming – and also good luck with your training I may well see you at Bolton!
I remember fondly running next to you when we left Cafe Sol in Leamington Spa many years ago, when you challenged me to a race !
The other supposed iron men out there won’t stand a chance
Just wondering how it is all going, just a few months left of training for you now. Are you on target to achieve your training goals? I haven’t seen any recent posts for a while. Hope all is ok
Had to reschedule due to a number of family things this year – so I’m now doing IM Wales… not quite as glam as Lazarote – but looking forwards to the cahllenge none the less
